MIM Multiple Business Units | If I have multiple business units, can I view my models together in one dashboard?
Yes! ChannelMix provides an option to roll all of your multiple business units up into one model. This approach provides more data on which your model can train, thus making a smarter model. Read on to learn about the details.
How will I see my business units in the dashboard?
While the data is trained together, the recommendations are still based on individual business units. Therefore, you are still getting individualized recommendations. Therefore the process is:
- Collect all data
- Train the model
- Make recommendations optimizing for each business unit individually based on a smarter model.
Since the recommendations are made on the business unit level, you will view business units one at a time using a drop-down filter in the dashboard.
What if one of my business units is completely different?
Sometimes you might have a business unit that's completely different than your others. Let's say for, example, you are an agency that works with finance clients, but you have one higher education client. You will not want the higher education client in your multi-business unit model because it will skew your data; higher ed does not perform like finance.
You might also see red flags within your dashboard if they are trained together because the model for these will more than likely be below the 65% benchmark (note that there are other reasons for low performance, but this different industry might be one).
If you feel this issue might apply to you, talk to your ChannelMix team to discuss taking those business units out of your model.
