The "New" Google Search Ads 360: Everything you need to know to migrate ChannelMix connections
Overview
Google Search Ads 360 (SA360) is getting updated! What is the new Search Ads 360? The new Search Ads 360 is a significant update designed to make it easier to manage campaigns across multiple advertising platforms. Additionally, some reporting features are being updated and enhanced. This article is meant to help answer any questions about the steps required to migrate existing ChannelMix data processes from the old SA360 to the new SA360.
Connections
The first thing that ChannelMix requires to pull data from any source is a connection. If you already have SA360 connections setup in app.channelmix.com then those connections will be used to connect to the old AND the new SA360. You are not required to "reconnect" your connection.
Profile Settings
SA360 has made changes to the way accounts are organized and therefore ChannelMix does need some additional information to ensure profiles are connecting to the correct accounts within SA360. Here is how the account terminology is represented for old SA306 and new SA360:
Old SA360
- Agency
- Advertiser
New SA360
- Manager Account
- Customer Client ID
In order to successfully migrate to the new SA360, you will need to add the appropriate profile information for each profile that is currently setup. Here are some step-by-step instructions for getting your profiles configured for new SA360:
Connecting to the new Search Ads 360 Reporting
- Navigate to the Connect page in the ChannelMix Control Center.
- Find and select the Search Ads 360 icon.
- Select the connection you need to update.
- Click on Manager ID.
- Select Manager ID to see all available Manager IDs.
- Choose the Manager ID that you would like to use.
- Select the correct Customer Client IDs associated with that Manager ID.
- Click okay.
- Confirm that all the information looks correct.
- Click Save, and you are all set to go!
Datasets
ChannelMix will handle all the hard data details related to this migration. SA360 fields will be changing names but CHannelMix data engineers will follow migration guides to ensure that all existing reports are seemlessly migrated to new SA360 field values.
If you do happen to notice field values that you don't think are matching the user interface then please submit a request so that a support engineer can help assist your situation.
