Connection Guide
FTP Connection Setup
If you are hosting your own FTP, please provide your FTP connection information in the Control Center under the FTP icon. Once the connection information is provided a ticket will be opened on your behalf so that a member of the ChannelMix support team can work with you directly to ingest data from your FTP to ChannelMix.
ChannelMix Hosted FTP Services
If you want to set up an FTP to transfer files to add to your data, submit a ticket letting us know if your vendor can send files to specific folders within an FTP or if they can only send to one folder.
Once we receive the request with the information, we will set up your folders and share a password with you through the ChannelMix Connect page.
For security reasons, we have to delete this password, so please make sure you save this password. Once you have it saved, let us know so we can delete it on our end.
Access Level
Depending on your role within the organization, you may have access to only certain folders. For example, if you are an agency with multiple folders, you can access them all. However, if you are a client of an agency, you will only have access to your specific folder.
File Name
When we set up your FTP, files sent to the folder must be sure a specific portion of your file name remains the same. Alterations in this portion of the name will cause a failure in the upload (it uses that name to know where to send the file).
Data Retention
ChannelMix will store data on the ChannelMix hosted FTP for 90 days and then the files will be deleted.
Timing
Our FTP ingestion is a scheduled ingestion. So please make sure that all files are uploaded at the same time every day. If they are not, there is a chance that the file will be missed, and will cause the files to get backed up in the server, and could cause discrepancies in your data.
Filtering
Please ensure there is no filtering added to the file. ChannelMix does not support ingesting Excel files with filters on them.
