How to Connect ChannelMix to R Studio

Windows

You can connect to your ChannelMix data via R Studio by using the ODBC connection features in R Studio.  There are a couple good articles that R Studio has published to help so they have been compiled here for easy step by step instructions.

First, you'll need to install the DBI and ODBC packages:

install.packages("DBI")
install.packages("odbc")

Next, you'll need to make sure that you have the "Amazon Redshift (x64)" driver installed on your machine.  The easiest way to do this is by running this command and seeing if it's listed in your drivers:

library(odbc)
sort(unique(odbcListDrivers()[[1]]))

If you don't have the Amazon Redshift driver installed you can find it here.

You should now be able to connect to your ChannelMix data using your credentials.

con <- DBI::dbConnect(odbc::odbc(),
Driver = "Amazon Redshift (x64)",
servername = "xxxxxxxxxxx.channelmix.com",
database = "[your database's name]",
UID = ["your username"],
PWD = ["your password"],
Port = [port number])
