🔌Google Ads | Connection Details
Connection Overview
Google Ads (formerly Google AdWords) is an online advertising platform developed by Google, where advertisers bid to display brief advertisements, service offerings, product listings, or videos to web users. It can place ads both in the results of search engines like Google Search (the Google Search Network) and on non-search websites, mobile apps, and videos. Services are offered under a pay-per-click (PPC) pricing model.
Connection Authentication
In order for ChannelMix to have access to your Google Ads account data, please connect within the Connect page of ChannelMix Control Center.
Profile Association and Values
You will not be able to use an MCC account, but rather connect all Ad Accounts that you want to report on. There is a one to one relationship for ChannelMix Profiles to AdWords Accounts so you may need to create extra profiles that will specify the account indicated in the connection. Often times, clients will create profiles specific to the ad account (ex. Alpha Brand - YouTube, Beta Brand - GDN, or Charlie Brand - 123-456-7891).
The Google Ads API now requires that you provide a "Manager ID" along with the ID of the Google Ads account. This will be the ID of the managing account, which may be the same as the Google Ads account ID if the account owner also manages the account, and this ID will not include dashes "-".
Please be ready to provide the Report Type and desired fields not already listed in the standard AdGroup and Keyword datasets.
Time Zone Reporting
Your time zone is permanently set when you set up your account. This setting cannot be updated because it's such a fundamental part of your account reporting and billing.
If you’d like to manage your ads in a different time zone, you must create a new account and set your desired time zone at the time of account creation.
