ChannelMix's Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Policy
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) can be made up of any data points that can be used to help identify a specific individual within your dataset.
Alight's policy is to not store any "Sensitive" personally identifiable information. The lists below depict the difference in PII and Sensitive PII.
PII includes:
- Name
- Home Address
- Phone Number
Sensitive PII includes:
- If Stand-Alone
- Social Security Number
- Driver's License or State ID Number
- Passport Number
- Alien Registration Number
- Financial Account Number
- Bio-metric Identifiers
- If Paired With Another Personal Identifier (including non-sensitive data points)
- Citizenship or Immigration Status
- Medical Information
- Ethnic or Religious Affiliation
- Sexual Orientation
- Account Password
- Last Four Digits of SSN
- Date of Birth
- Criminal History
- Mother's Maiden Name
While the storing of non-sensitive identifiers is not against ChannelMix policy, it is discouraged when it can be avoided. This level of granularity is often unnecessary for analysis and reporting requirements.
